Who we are

What Could Work? explores ideas for problems affecting people across Indonesia.

Our website address is whatcouldwork.com. The website is operated by Yohanes Lieberto.

For questions about this policy or requests concerning your personal information, email admin@whatcouldwork.com.

Information you send us

When you email us, we receive your email address and any information you include, such as your name, message, links, and attachments.

We use this information to respond to enquiries, consider problem suggestions, investigate corrections, and maintain relevant editorial correspondence. Our contact email uses Gmail, a Google service.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or unnecessary personal details about other people.

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect the information entered in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent information to help detect spam.

If your comment is approved, your comment and display name become publicly visible. Your email address is not displayed publicly through the standard WordPress comment system.

If Gravatar is enabled, a hash derived from your email address may be sent to that service to check for an associated profile picture. After comment approval, that picture may appear beside your comment. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy for details.

Where an automated spam detection service is used, submitted comments and associated technical information may be processed by that service.

Media uploads

If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location information, such as EXIF GPS data. Other visitors may be able to download uploaded images and extract that information.

Cookies

Our website uses WordPress, and we use Google Analytics. Cookies may be used for website functions, saved preferences, and analytics.

If the comment form offers an option to remember your name, email address, and website, choosing it saves those details in cookies for one year.

For users accessing the login page or signing in:

  • A temporary cookie checks whether the browser accepts cookies and is discarded when the browser closes.
  • Login cookies normally last two days. Selecting “Remember Me” extends login persistence to two weeks.
  • Screen preference cookies last one year.
  • Logging out removes login cookies.
  • Editing or publishing an article sets a cookie containing the article’s post ID, which expires after one day.

These account-related cookies apply to people who access those functions.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect some website features. Cookie lifetimes and Google Analytics data retention periods are separate.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the website and to help improve its content and navigation.

Depending on the configuration and applicable consent choices, information processed may include pages visited, interactions, referral sources, device and browser details, approximate location, and online identifiers.

Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish visitors and measure website activity. Google processes information according to its applicable terms and privacy practices.

Learn more about how Google uses information from websites that use its services and how Google uses cookies.

Embedded content and external links

Articles may contain embedded content, such as videos, images, or social media posts. Embedded content can allow the external provider to collect information about your visit, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with that content, particularly if you are signed in to that provider’s service.

Links to external websites take you to services with their own privacy policies. We do not control those websites’ information practices.

Hosting and service providers

Our website is hosted by Hostinger, which processes website data to deliver hosting services. Hosting operations may involve technical records such as IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps, and server or security logs.

We also use Google Analytics for website measurement and Zoho for correspondence.

Relevant provider information is available in Hostinger’s Data Processing Addendum, Zoho’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy.

If you request a password reset for a website account, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Information may also be disclosed where necessary to meet a legal obligation or respond to a lawful request.

International processing

Our providers may store or process information in countries outside Indonesia. Processing locations and arrangements depend on the services involved and their applicable terms.

How long we retain information

Comments and their associated metadata may be retained indefinitely unless removed. This preserves discussions and helps WordPress recognise returning commenters.

For registered users, we store the personal information included in their profiles for as long as the account is maintained, subject to deletion requests and applicable retention obligations.

Correspondence is retained for as long as needed to address the enquiry, suggestion, or correction and maintain relevant editorial records.

Analytics information is retained according to our Google Analytics settings and Google’s applicable practices. Some aggregated reports are not subject to the same retention controls as user-level and event-level data.

Technical logs and backups follow the applicable hosting and service settings. Information may remain in backups until those backups expire or are replaced.

Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent or exercise other applicable privacy rights.

Registered users can view and edit available profile information, although WordPress does not ordinarily allow users to change their usernames. Website administrators can access and edit user information.

To make a privacy request, email admin@whatcouldwork.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We may retain information where required for legal, administrative, or security purposes.

Security

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. Please do not use ordinary email or public comments to send confidential or sensitive information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website, its services, or applicable requirements. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated revision date.
